Is Your Home Sold?

Is your home sold yet?

Sell Your Home Already

Even though your home been up for sale for a while, it still hasn’t sold. This tells me that maybe you need to make some changes. Here are a few things that may be turning buyers off or scaring them away.

There’s Too Much of YOU

Like most people, you probably have too many personal decorations in your house. Even though you may think some of your personal touches are beautiful, it’s quite possible that buyers don’t. Take them down and pack them away. When you get to your new home, you can put them back up. Then decorate with more generic decorations

Maybe you have way too much furniture. Get rid of some of it, temporarily. Get it off site into a storage unit or a relatives house, Just get it somewhere else. Because if there’s too much furniture in the house, buyers think that the house is too small. As a result, they think there’s no room to store things. And the same thinking goes for your closets.

What’s the flooring like?

Are your carpets worn and /or dirty? Is your kitchen floor worn? You see, buyers will look at these things and think that they’ll need to replace that immediately. And the number they think of will be higher than it”ll actually cost. But, they’ll figure that number into an offer they may make .Buyers don’t not want to move into a place that has worn out carpets or linoleum that’s worn right through. Would you?  So take care of business now and get the home sold..

Is the home clean?

When was the last time you had your home professionally cleaned? If you look closely, you may see dirt in the corners. Or the  windows may be dirty. You see the home everyday. And maybe you don’t even realize it’s dirty. But when buyers come in they will see if it’s dirty. And that leaves a bad impression in their minds.

Showings

Are you home when someone comes to show it? You shouldn’t be.You need to let the Realtors do their jobs. Buyers don’t want you in the home while they’re looking. They become uncomfortable, and they are in a rush to leave the home..

A Picture’s Worth a Lot of Words

Take another look at the listing in the MLS. Because this is usually the first thing a potential buyer sees. Do the pictures reflect the current season? If not, replace them. Take a good look at the interior pictures. It may betime for a complete fresh set of pictures.

Bottom Line

Are you ready for the number one reason why your home hasn’t sold?

It’s overpriced.

And if a home is overpriced, very simply put,  it will not sell. Get an updated market analysis from your Realtor, because the market does change. And if a new market analysis shows the price is too high, reduce.  Because if you don’t, you’ll still own the house a long time from now.
