How to Waste money on your Home – Part 2

Continuing on, let’s talk about some more ways to waste money on maintaining your home.

Maintain Your Home

Don’t bother checking your roof. It takes a lot of time you could spend watching that new 4K flat screen you purchased (Hope it worked for you). If the shingles are curling, or some have blown off, don’t worry about it until you see the water stains on the ceiling.

Do you feel a draft coming around the windows or doors? Not to worry, just turn up the heat or the AC. It’s too complicated to caulk the windows or replace weather stripping on the doors.

Water your lawn frequently. That should keep it nice and green. More water is better. And if a sprinkler head is leaking, or if it waters a fence or the neighbor’s yard, it’s not a big deal. Water is cheap after all.

And speaking of water, do you have any faucets that leak> One drop of water per second will only waste about 3000 gallons of water per year. Relax. After all, I said it before. Water is cheap.

What about your bill from the garbage company? Don’t bother to shop, you may be able to find another company that will charge less. But that takes too much effort. Also, many companies will charge even less for one pickup per week, but having two pickups per week is better in case you miss a day.

And changing the company where you get your interest and cable tv is a hassle. And it’s not worth the effort to save some money on that bill. Even if it’s a significant amount.

So now that I’ve told you a few ways to waste some money, maybe you should turn those ideas around a start to save some money. Let me know if you agree. Call or text me, Art Reiman – Realtor, at 732-598-7700. I would like to hear from you.
